"My
wedding was a wonderful time and seamless. Many
people commented that they had never seen a bride
and groom enjoy their wedding as much as we did.
That was in large part due to Alexis.
By nature, I am a perfectionist and like to have
control over everything that I'm involved with.
Yet because my mother lives out-of-state and I'm
in graduate school, I knew I needed help in planning
the wedding. This was especially true since the
wedding and reception were held at an estate where
everything - including tables and chairs - had
to be brought in by outside vendors.
I was surprised by how easy it was for me to turn
many of the details over to Alexis. She too is
a perfectionist and does her job extremely well.
She works only with the best vendors - caterers,
florists, photographers, etc. Many of them have
won awards for their work and all speak very highly
of her. She was also able to develop a timeline
that both fit my hectic lifestyle as a student
and enabled me to still have a choice of select
vendors.
In helping me select my photographer, for example,
she gave me a list of about 10 people in different
price ranges with differing artistic styles. After
looking at their websites and asking for her valued
opinion on each, she set up appointments with
about five of them. Alexis would accompany me
to most of
these meetings, ask questions, and take notes.
(I don't think I ever took notes at one of these
meetings!) She would then follow-up with me to
get my thoughts, offer her suggestions, and follow-up
with each photographer. I should say though, that
Alexis never forced her opinions on me or tried
to sway me to use any particular vendor. Alexis
was also very responsive to me. I would often
write emails to her at 1 am only to get a response
at 2:00 in the morning!
While the planning process was wonderful, she
truly shined at the wedding rehearsal and during
the wedding itself. From the time I showed up
for the rehearsal to the time the wedding ended
I had not a worry in the world. Neither did my
mother or anyone else. Things will inevitably
come up during a wedding but I didn't know about
some of the little issues that arose until afterwards
and I'm sure that I will never know about others.
For instance, my father forgot his wedding ring
in the hotel room. When Alexis heard about this
(she has eyes and ears everywhere) she sent one
of her assistants back to the hotel to get it
for him. She pays attention to the smallest detail
while keeping the big picture in mind.
I could go on and on, but I hope this gives you
a sense of how valued Alexis truly is. Simply
stated, I do not believe that there is a better
wedding planner."
